Experience

Neil is a Tax Partner in the Grant Thornton Channel Islands tax team and specialises in Offshore Trust and Company tax advisory and compliance services. He was named as Citywealth Future Leaders - Accountant of the Year 2018.

At present Neil is currently advising clients on the implications of the proposed changes to the taxation of non-domiciliaries and what impact these changes will have on trust structures in the Channel Islands. Neil also leads our tax information exchange service line and has a deep understanding of the US FATCA and OECD Common Reporting Standard.

Neil has been listed as one of the Citywealth Top 50 Tax Professionals of 2024.

  • All aspects of UK tax compliance and advice undertaken for Trusts & Offshore Companies.
  • Specialises in UK taxation of employee benefit trusts and pension schemes.
  • Undertake reviews of existing structure ensure they are fit for purpose and restructure where required to ensure maximum tax benefits.
  • Undertaken a number of large voluntary disclosures of historic undeclared income and or gains and arranged settlement with HMRC to ensure least disruption to the beneficiaries personal position whilst discharging the trustees liabilities.
  • Specialises in FATCA and the implications for local businesses to implement most cost effective way of dealing with the regulations.
