Grant Thornton Congratulates Andrea Harris, New INSOL President

Grant Thornton Channel Islands is delighted to announce, Andrea Harris, Recovery & Reorganisation Partner and Head of Advisory, will become President of INSOL International, effective 1 July 2026. 

Andrea’s appointment to President marks several significant milestones:

  • First President from Grant Thornton
  • Second female President in INSOL’s history
  • First President from the Channel Islands
     

Commenting on the appointment Andrea said:

“It is a great honour to be appointed to this role. INSOL’s contribution to the global ecosystem of insolvency and restructuring is second to none, and I am looking forward to working alongside INSOL’s staff and volunteers to lead the organisation over the next two years.”

INSOL International is a global federation representing more than 13,000 insolvency and restructuring professionals across 47 member associations. The organisation plays a crucial role in driving the evolution of insolvency frameworks, sharing best practices, and supporting professional development worldwide. 

Career 

As Head of Advisory, Andrea has guided clients through complex insolvency, restructuring and recovery scenarios. Her credentials include that she is a Fellow of INSOL International, a Chartered Accountant, and a Certified Fraud Examiner, and she has been involved extensively in various committees across the industry. Her career spans various appointments across multiple jurisdictions including Australia, Bermuda, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman, and the Channel Islands. Andrea was a Founding Co-Chair of the Channel Islands network of the International Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation and is a member of both the ARIES Legal and Regulatory Committee and the Guernsey Insolvency Rules Committee.

As President, Andrea will support INSOL International in strengthening its mission across the globe and in its mission of being Collaborative, Cross Border and Connected.
