Gashirai is an Associate Director within the Audit practice at Grant Thornton Channel Islands, specialising in the delivery of high-quality audits across regulated and complex environments.
He manages a portfolio of engagements spanning GFSC-regulated insurance entities - primarily captive insurers - as well as real estate structures, listed groups and owner-managed businesses. He leads audits from planning through to completion, with responsibility for delivery, quality and timelines, and plays a central role in forming audit opinions and concluding on key judgment areas.
Gashirai is recognised for his technical strength in complex audit judgments and financial reporting matters, with particular expertise in insurance-specific accounting, going concern and viability assessments, audit report modifications, and multi-jurisdictional group structures and consolidations. He is regularly consulted on complex technical matters across the firm, including pre-issuance and hot reviews, where his ability to apply sound judgment in high-pressure situations is particularly valued.
He works closely with CFOs, boards and audit committees, providing clear and commercially relevant insight, and is actively involved in proposals, fee discussions and ongoing relationship management. Alongside his client work, he plays a key role in supporting audit quality through technical reviews, training and audit methodology development, and contributes to broader insights on evolving industry and regulatory developments.
His experience spans primarily UK GAAP, with exposure to IFRS and US GAAP in more complex and international engagements.
