Experience
Rahul has more than 10 years of experience in providing audit services. Rahul started work in South Africa with Grant Thornton (Johannesburg) which led him to join Grant Thornton UK LLP (at the time). He then joined Grant Thornton Channel Islands in 2020 and was promoted to Director in October 2025.
Whilst delivering on audits of varying size and complexity, Rahul works on numerous multi-jurisdictional audits with other member and non-member firms. He is also part of Grant Thornton’s Professional Standards Team which supports the audit team by responding to technical queries on accounting or audit related matters.
Rahul also works on a large range of clients who report under IFRS Accounting Standards as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board.
Sector experience
Presently, he has a broad portfolio of large and medium audit relationships including a variety of financial services clients predominantly funds and insurance. However, from working in different regions (South Africa, the UK and Channel Islands) this has enabled him to gain valuable experience in other industries such as:
- International retail
- Private healthcare
- Open and closed-ended funds (with exposure to Islamic Finance)
- infrastructure debt
- Biological assets
- Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Chartered Accounting from the University of Johannesburg
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
- Member of the GSCCA technical sub-committee
