What did you want to be when you were younger?

When I was younger I wanted to be actress or a musician, however the inconsistent nature of the entertainment industry made me consider other alternatives.

What made you choose your current profession?

I chose a career in audit because auditors are thrust into different companies every few weeks which means we are always meeting new people.

As an auditor I see the inner workings of a wide range of different companies. Auditors need to understand what the company does, how they operate and why they’ve made particular business decisions. A career in audit also provides stability; it will never go out of style because it’s a legal requirement.

Why did you choose to work for Grant Thornton?

The opportunity to work for Grant Thornton came up when I was working for a medium sized audit firm in South Africa, so it was great opportunity to gain international experience in a welcoming work environment.

How has Grant Thornton helped you grow professionally?

When I started to work for Grant Thornton I did not have experience in financial services but through on-the-job experience, training and exposure to various industries my knowledge has grown.

I enjoy working at Grant Thornton because there is a sense of community. Everyone is always willing to assist you. There is also flexible working hours and a smart casual dress code, so we encouraged manage our own time and be individuals.
