"I like the fact that Grant Thornton care a lot about their people. They have one fundamental understanding; there is life outside of work."

Timothy Kamombo - Audit Manager

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I wanted to be a medical doctor for a long time. When I reached the age of 12, things changed; I wanted to be a pilot. I was indifferent between a commercial pilot and a fighter jet pilot.
How did I end up here, in audit? I wonder!

What made you choose your current profession?

When I was in high school, we had a career day. On that day, three accountants presented and they sold me the accounting dream; they told me about traveling opportunities and the flexibility in their work. Before they sold me the dream, what got my attention was their dressing - the boys were looking sharp.

Why did you choose to work for Grant Thornton?

I wanted to work in a smaller team where I can have great relationships but at the same time as not being in a small firm. Grant Thornton seemed the right fit; not one of the big four and not one of the small ones.

How has Grant Thornton helped you grow professionally?

I have had more responsibilities and have also been able to link my input to the results the firm gets as a whole. It has helped me see my contribution to the big pie. It has also helped me grow my network; I have met with different leaders from various industries.
