"Grant Thornton is small enough to develop great relationships with all of the departments but big enough to allow for promotion opportunities."

Brady Lesbirel - Business Advisory Senior

What is your background?

Following completion of my A-Levels, I was planning on going to university in Plymouth to study Business and Marketing. The cost of going to university changed my mind and so I started looking for employment in Guernsey.

Why did you choose to work for Grant Thornton

I had a few offers to choose from but decided to join Grant Thornton based on their training opportunities, the opportunities that working in audit can lead to and the size of the office – Grant Thornton is small enough to develop great relationships with all of the departments but big enough to allow for promotion opportunities.

What is your role and what do you like about your position

I first joined Grant Thornton as an auditor and worked on a variety of different clients including insurance companies, fiduciaries, trusts and local charities. An opportunity came up to move into our Business Advisory department, where we mainly deal with accounts preparation for local individuals and businesses and provide auditing services to local entities but also perform other services such as tax. I have been in the department for over two years now and am enjoying the variety of work that this area offers.

Why do you like working at Grant Thornton?

I enjoy working at Grant Thornton because of the people who work here. There is always someone willing to assist you at all levels within the Company, which is very important when you are developing your career. There are also numerous sports and social events held throughout the year and these allow you to get to know your company-wide colleagues, which makes the office a more enjoyable place to work in.
